Learning to Love
Can a person be hurt so badly that they no longer care, that they no longer feel anything but their own pain? Can a wound go so deep that they no longer see the sun, only the blinding rays that destroy their dreams; or hear the roaring waves, only the deafening scream of their own pain? There is little that causes such pain. Only love, or the lack thereof, can cause wounds so deep.
If we could live without passion, we could live without pain, but neither would we know the joys of holding someone so close that the two become one. We would not know Love.
One moment, love is a shimmering pearl found only in the depths of the sea, the next, it is a deadly viper poisoning the innocent heart, or so we think. That burning scar is a reminder that one should love more deeply, feel more passionately than ever before, because with each new wound it becomes more difficult to feel the pain. It is by which means we will all understand the meaning of UNCONDITIONAL love.
